Abdul Wasay is a Research Scientist at the Machine Programming Group at Intel Labs. He also has an academic appointment as a Visiting Professor at the University of California, San Diego. Before joining Intel Labs, he completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Harvard University. His research is at the intersection of systems and machine learning. He designs techniques to accelerate deep learning and data science pipelines, explicitly addressing the bottleneck of repeated data movement and computation. His research appears in both systems and machine learning venues such as SIGMOD, MLSys, and ICLR. Wasay has also designed and taught several undergraduate and graduate courses at Harvard University and Ashesi University in Ghana to a diverse set of students.
